Hello Everyone:

Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) has recently announced that between Nov. 9, 2013 and Oct. 31, 2014, a maximum of 12,000 applications under Canadian Experience Class will be accepted.  In addition to that, there will be sub-caps of 200 applications for each NOC Skill Level B occupation.  This means that applicants who have work experience at technician level, supervisor level or similar will need to submit their CEC application as soon as possible.  Once the sub-cap has reached, you will need to wait until next year.

Lastly, CIC has also published a list of occupations that are ineligible to be used for a CEC application.  It includes:

  • Cooks (NOC 6322)
  • Food service supervisors (NOC 6311)
  • Administrative officers (NOC 1221)
  • Administrative assistants (NOC 1241)
  • Accounting technicians and bookkeepers (NOC 1311)
  • Retail sales supervisors (NOC 6211)

We expect these new changes will have an impact on many of you.  There is no reason to panic because of this.  You just need to start preparing your application earlier than you planned or considering other options such as a Provincial Nominee program.  Let us help you by contacting us for your consultation with Prof. Daniel Won.
