Hockey hysteria continues! We received this video from one of our associates, Ali who recorded the pandemonium from his condo balconyVancouver craziness after Vancouver scored in the first 11 seconds of overtime to clutch game 2 and move to Boston with a 2-0 lead in games. As you can see and hear even better, downtown Vancouver erupted. There were 70,000 people downtown for Saturdays home game and they are expecting an even bigger crowd tonight…….and the game is in Boston!
For those of you in non “Hockey” venues, Vancouver is in the best of seven series against the fabled Boston Bruins. It is new against old, progressive against traditional, west against east. This is the World Series of Hockey. We are down to the two best teams and Vancouver is one of them. There is hysteria in the air. Normally reserved Canadians lose all sense of decorum when Hockey is involved. Who knows…you might see your banker running down the street, half naked painted in the blue and white of the Cannucks colors….and think that’s ok. We haven’t seen this sort of pandemonium since the Olympics. It’s great and the best thing is while Canadians might get a bit “looney” over hockey they rarely get violent…it’s all great fun!

Of course, everyone knows that the National Sport of Canada is Hockey but for those of you who don’t live in Vancouver, I thought I would share with you a bit of Vancouver’s excitement last night over qualifying for the Stanley Cup Finals. Granville Street is one of the main streets in downtown (Imin is actually located at Granville and Georgia).
Last night, Granville was closed and the town was celebrating it’s first ever trip to the Stanley Cup Finals. This is the biggest crowd I’ve seen on Granville since last years Olympics. Enjoy the celebration!
