I was at your (Daniel Won’s) class at SF University in Whalley recently asking questions about marriage to my Canadian boyfriend. In the meantime I’m looking for work in the Vancouver BC area but need to know how to match up my skills to employers there for sponsorship… how do I find a sponsor or apply to jobs that would be willing to sponsor me? |

Attention Travellers with VisaPlease note that a visa is not a guarantee for aesccs into the Schengen States. The final authorisation remains with the Immigration Officer at the border. In addition to a valid passport with a valid visa (except for exempted nationals), when entering a Schengen State, a traveller should be able to produce the following documents to the Immigration Officer:? Concerning his/her stay in the Schengen zone???? For tourism: hotel reservation, other accommondation details or documents from a travel agency???? For a professional/business visit: letter from the employer, invitation from a business partner or organisation???? For a private visit: invitation letter or contact details from a family member or friend living in the Schengen State (some require a formal obligation, proof of accomodation, or invitation form)? Concerning his/her Means of Living???? Cash, traveller’s cheques, valid international credit card? Proof of Travel Insurance???? Covering all type of expenses including doctors and hospital fees as well as repatriation costs? Guarantees of Return???? Air ticket, ferry ticket, road or other travel arrangements to a country outside of the Schengen States.. |

Switzerland only just joined the Schengen agreement, so they can in fact offer a Schengen visa. You can apply for it at the Swiss embassy, however you should apply to the country you are planning on staying the longest in. And if they’re only going to France, well, they should really apply for it at the French embassy. But I don’t see why you can’t try at the Swiss embassy, it sounds a lot easier for your parents.See my source for more Schengen visa information.A majority of countries in Europe are part of the Schengen area. This means you only have to apply for one visa to visit the entire area. Within this zone citizens can travel passport free. The Schengen area includes twenty five states:Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, The Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Cyprus, Romania, Bulgaria- and finally Switzerland.
